  • The pregnant woman who was photographed being evacuated from the maternity ward of a hospital in Mariupol which was heavily shelled late last week has died, along with her baby according to the Associated Press.

  • President Zelensky will give virtual address to members of US Congress Wednesday: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will give a virtual address to the US Congress on Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET, according to a letter sent to House and Senate members by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, according to CNN.

  • On Monday, CNN also reported the Biden administration was considering expediting immigration proceedings for displaced Ukrainians with ties to the US. Canada will open a special visitor program to Ukrainians later this week.

  • Talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials are expected to resume on Tuesday. More than 4,000 people were evacuated from front-line Ukrainian cities on Monday, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk says. She accuses Russian forces of firing on civilians in the Kyiv region. (Al Jazeera).

  • Reports on the Telegram messaging service are claiming Russian troops have blown up ammunition in front of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. A subsequent message from Ukraine’s nuclear energy company, Energoatom, say it is not yet clear whether radiation levels have been affected since the explosion.
